Becky Stimpson

25th - 30th September 2019

After many years of being told Grue Demoiselle would be perfect for a Yoga retreat we have teamed up with Becky Stimpson and offer you this wonderful chance to come and enjoy Yoga in our special surroundings.  We offer you a comfortable and tranquil stay here and now you can expand your experience by adding Yoga to your day and spending some quality time with the beautiful soul of Becky.

Your Yogi

Becky trained with the British Wheel of Yoga and provides heartfelt Hatha yoga focusing on building a relationship between the body, mind and breath. Having experienced the benefits of healing through yoga, she creates inspiring and playful sequences to help students explore strength, flexibility and balance in the body, weaving elements of meditation and mindfulness throughout to encourage connection with the soul, bringing a greater sense of wellbeing. Passionately sharing her love of yoga with others, Becky invites you to feel supported and guided through your own yoga journey.

Beckys own personal yoga journey...

I came across yoga after having my second child in 2013 and to begin with it was just a bit of fun. I would go on evening bike rides with my friends and we would stop half way to do some yoga together, which at that point would mainly consist of trying to bend ourselves into out of reach positions or balancing on our heads.

It was fun but I wanted more. I wanted to know real yoga
. I started going to classes and slowly built up practicing at home. As time went on, my personal yoga practice transformed in a big way.

It also
transformed me in a big way. It went from being something purely physical to something that started to shift the way I viewed life, relationships and myself. My eyes opened. I’d found a tool to help me relax, quiet the mind, face up to and deal with difficult situations, connect, be vulnerable and nurture my mental health, not to mention the benefits yoga has for the physical body.

I went through some pretty big life changes over the next couple of years and yoga was my saviour. I’m not ashamed to say it changed my life. Because it had such a big effect on me I knew I wanted to pass the knowledge and precious jewel of yoga onto other people.

My passion turned into a couple of years of teacher training (300hr) with the British Wheel of Yoga led by my own yoga teacher Hayley Gumery who has been a constant source of inspiration. I started teaching in September 2017 and I teach 3 weekly classes to students with a wide range of abilities, along with day retreats every couple of months in the Dorset countryside.

Is this for you?

It’s yoga for all. Anyone. Whoever you are, whatever your walk of life has been. People who want time to connect with their inner self and move their bodies, whatever shape or size they may be without fear of being judged or compared. We keep our numbers to a comfortable size to ensure you receive quality time whilst you are here, a maximum 12 participants.

What to expect:

The weather is usually fantastic in September, the lakes are warm enough to swim in and the temperatures are still up in the higher 20's, so most Yoga sessions will be in the wonderful gardens of your Retreat, where you can gaze at the sky and feel the earth beneath your feet.  Meditation in our own Caitland Stone Circle is a powerful and magical experience.  Should the weather be more fresh we have an amazing hall with quartz and granite built into the walls to give a special feel of peace and history.

To maximise your health benefits the diet for the few days will be vegetarian, freshly prepared and ingredients locally sourced and seasonal, drinks, fruit and snacks are freely available throughout the day, just help yourself.  Any visitors who have been here before will know that cake is always on the menu and wine is with the evening meal.

A loose schedule is suggested, depending on the groups needs and requirements.
Arrivals:
25th September -  Settle in, get to know each other over aperitifs before enjoying a welcoming evening meal, meet your tutor and relax. Take a glass of wine and sit around the fire pit, watch the stars come out before slouching off to a comfy bed and a good nights sleep.

Teaching days 26, 27, 28 and 29th September.
2 classes per day (Classes will be around 1.5 hours) based loosely around one morning and one late afternoon.  When we are all gathered Becky will be able to structure the course days depending on the groups needs.  One evening there will be Yoga by the lake with a supper afterwards (as long as the group feel comfortable doing Yoga in a public space).
Daily meditations.

There will also be time if you would like to indulge in a relaxing  Bowen treatment and Becky is also available for some one to one sessions (50€) if you would like that extra tuition or expansion on your experience here.

Please be assured you are in the competent and confident hands of Becky who is able to teach groups of all different levels.
