Residential Respite Care

From 1 day and up to two weeks
in comfortable surroundings with the assurance of an experienced carer on hand 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Here at Grue Demoiselle we have a lovely environment for you to have a break and allow your regular caring family or friends to get away whilst you are with us.

You can be assured that you will be well looked after, Catherine is a trained carer for the elderly and has been helping our more senior citizens remain in their own homes by living with them 24/7.  Catherine has experience in caring for people with Dementia, Parkinsons and some experience in Pallitive care (end of life.)  Catherine has been caring for the elderly for the last five years and also has a current First Aid qualification.  She is employed in the UK by a reputable care company and has current Police safety checks in France and the UK (DBS).

You can feel comfortable if you require help with your daily needs as in washing, toiletting, dressing, help with meals and taking medication (not diabetes, but a nurse can be organised.).

Thats the basics dealt with, but you can also expect some excellent company, we like to chat, discuss life, stroll around the garden, have a game of some sort, arrange a trip into town or the hairdressers, flower arranging, painting and if thats not enough we also have two kind and friendly dogs who like to say hello (if you like dogs, if not they dont have to be around.)  We are also happy if you still like to cook and share your skills and life experiences or just enjoy being waited on.  English TV is in the lounge for those moments you want to get away and catch up with your favorite programmes.

Catherine and Jim are also Bowen Technique Therapists so you may also want to enjoy a relaxing therapy.

Moving to France doesnt have to mean being a burden or feeling isolated by the language and giving your family an opportunity for some time on their own can only enhance all your relationships.

Catherine has current moving and handling training so you can be assured ou will be treated correclty and safely if you need assistance in moving around.

We are happy to accept you if you are mobile or require a walking frame to move around but because of some small steps and lack of hoist equipment we are unable to accept clients who are in wheelchairs.  It is not a problem if a wheelchair is simply required whilst visiting places.

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable stay we have compiled an initial check list so your family have an idea of what they need to gather together to prepare for your stay with us.

Check list:

Please come equiped with all medication necessary for the duration of your stay plus an extra three days supply.
Please bring enough sanitary protection required for your stay.
If you are wearing hearing aids then please make sure they have new batteries or you have some spare with you.
If you enjoy going out please make sure you bring a small amount of spending money which we will count and sign for on your arrival.

Prices start at 100€ per day rising to 200€ depending on requirements.

Please call us to discuss your stay and if we are the right fit for your needs, we really hope we can help and we love meeting new people!
