Reiki Sessions

Reiki is the energy that moves through your body, in fact reiki practitioners understand that Reiki is the energy that moves through everything and literally translated means 'Free passage of universal life force.'

During a Reiki treatment a practitioner supports the movement of this energy within your body, yet doesn’t manipulate it.

A Reiki treatment is therapeutic, rather than diagnostic, in that it aims to support a client’s self-healing and well being – not alleviate any particular diagnosed illness.

Catherine has been trained in the traditional methods of Dr Usui and offers Reiki treatments to compliment your stay.

A Reiki Treatment
*is deeply relaxing and comforting.

*catalyzes the body’s natural ability to heal.

*has continuing effects for hours and even days after the treatment.

*reduces stress, pain and inflammation.

*can be used on animals and plants in addition to people.

*is non-manipulative, non-invasive and non-intrusive

*supports all other forms of healing, including medical treatment, by bringing your body to a place of balance where healing can occur.

*supports your body in releasing physical symptoms

*can reduce/relieve pain, especially chronic pain, by bringing your body to balance

*reduces frequency and/or severity of opportunistic diseases that often occur in immune compromised conditions

Experiencing a Reiki treatment
*you lie on treatment table (or chair) table fully clothed and covered with a sheet or blanket.
*you may be silent or may talk. (conversation is unnecessary and whatever you choose to say will be held in total confidence)
* you may fall asleep
*you may experience a variety of sensations, such as: relaxation, comfort, heat, cold, tingling, pressure, lightness, heaviness and occasionally discomfort on the way to balance as you release useless old stuff.
*you may experience emotions or remember things from the past.
*you may experience little or no physical sensation. This does not diminish the benefits of the treatment. It only means that you are not perceiving Reiki in a physical way.
*the practitioner’s hands are placed in a specific sequence of positions on your head, chest and back. They rest gently in each position for approximately 4 minutes. The entire treatment takes about 45 minutes.
*diagnosis is unnecessary, so there is no need for you to share the details of your medical condition.
*please let me know if you feel uncomfortable for any reason (too hot, too cold, etc). at any time. This treatment is for you. I would like to do whatever I can to ensure your ease, comfort and relaxation.
*relax and enjoy - there is nothing that you need to do, think about or focus on.
*may experience benefits of the treatment for days afterwards.

Whilst attending an animal communication course(Madeleine Walker) at Grue Demoiselle in May I decided to have a treatment with either Cathrine or Jim. Cathrine and Jim sensed that Cathrine was better suited on this occasion so more than happy I spent my last hour with Cathrine in the wonderfully grounding treatment room within a beautifully converted barn laden with natural quartz crystals. This treatment was Reiki, which I\'d not had great experiences with in the past. BUT Cathrine soon put that right. She took into account my resent surgery, the Titanium I have hold my spine together. As soon as Cathrine started to treat me my back felt light, relaxed and almost as if it were melting like yummy chocolate! During this treatment Cathrine had spirit come into the room, one being my partners father and another his mother, sadly I was never lucky enough to meet them. Cathrine gave me the messages they told her, each message meant the world to me. The messages were also very accurate, some I hadn\'t been able to understand whilst being treated but on my arrival home my partner confirmed what these messages were. Since the treatment, I\'ve been able to cut down on my prescribed painkillers and feel much more supple, my muscles have softened which is heaven sent! I will be returning to Grue Demoiselle for treatment, the food and the loving caring approach both Cathrine and Jim offer. It really is a wee bit of heaven on earth! oh and Moriarty(resident dog) is just the best!
